Who has Health Awareness?

health awarenessWe have all noticed that some people have a strong awareness of their health while others do not. No one can put their finger on exactly why it is that some people are so personally invested in their health while others treat it like a non-reality, but anyone can observe statistics about how the more well off someone is, the more likely they are to be aware of and active about their health. This fact has been officially observed on many different levels, and is a result of several different influences.

One influence that is common would be drug and alcohol abuse and should be treated for it through drug and alcohol rehab programs.

Firstly, health services in America cost money. Some basic services are free to anyone, but most cost some amount of money either in insurance premiums or in paying directly for the services. This has an obvious connection to a person’s finances and their health. Those who have more money are better equipped to pay for health services, and they have the means to treat their medical conditions more thoroughly than those with less money.

Secondly, the more money a person has, the more access they have to nutritional and medicinal products that will keep them healthier. It is true that one can have a healthy, balanced diet on a low income and even tailor their diets and medicines to their particular health needs. But this becomes more complicated for people who have real conditions that need treatment. Some holistic remedies call for products that can cost a person quite a bit of money, especially now that we are aware that cheaper products often come with harmful chemicals and preservatives which only exacerbate conditions. The more money one has, the better they can take care of themselves.

And lastly, money buys a person a better education, and what is health awareness if not education? People receiving better educations are naturally exposed to more information, and they are taught what to do with that information in order to be effective people. This includes information about health. People who are able to afford better educations receive more information about health and are given direction on how to manage personal health.
